Mandarin Oriental

Creating a concept to enhance the guest experience at the iconic Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Bangkok was no mean feat, but one which dwp delivered with flair.

Our dramatic design for the 200sqm Author’s Wing maintains the majesty of a hotel beloved by Conrad, Coward and Greene, while adding a stylish new signature space befitting the next generation of literary legends.

A breezy balcony complements the hotel’s elegant and timeless colonial style, while a Victorian-style orangery provides a sanctuary from the bustle of the busy city.

lebua No.3

Lebua No.3, the world’s tallest gin, caviar & vodka bar is the newest addition to the dwp-designed all-star line-up of unmissable Thai experiences at Lebua.

Accessorised in laser blue, piano black and rich copper, the high-tech venue offers dance-stopping views of the city skyline and the Chao Phraya River with cocktails at one of three circular bars.

Guests arrive at the first circular bar and DJ booth via a black marble spiral staircase then move outside to the terrace where there are two further bars. The design plays with light, space and sound to create an experience that challenges the senses.

The blue lighting was a collaborative effort with a lighting designer. Coupled with the world’s first external digital dance floor which plays moving graphics to the music, Lebua bar no.3 is something you have never seen before.

Chef’s Table

Move over Hong Kong and Singapore, Bangkok has a new fine dining offering. Chef’s Table places the art of cooking at the very heart of the sumptuous dining experience some 61 floors above the Thai capital’s streets with panoramic views through its floor to ceiling windows.

Double leaf burl hand-polished veneer doors are the entry point into the dramatic double height restaurant. The room features hand-tufted broadloom carpets in creme, hand-painted gilded wallpaper and rich veneer. The ethereal atmosphere is completed by a large curved mural recreating Monet’s magical watercolour ‘Lilies of Giverny’.

Circular glazed bay windows allow the panoramic Bangkok skyline to flood in as, central to the space and concept – the actual Chef’s Table – a Molteni Stove in cream and brass, glows. The table is wrapped by crescent counters carved from Carrara marble. dwp’s design celebrates the art of creation; moving far beyond the concept of an ‘open kitchen’. As one of the few open kitchen concepts to be actually located in the center of the dining room, guests are not only treated to the culinary magic of Michelin Chef Vincent Thierry, but chances are they will be greeted by him as they walk in.

Pink Bar

Bubbles, love and laughter were the collective inspiration for lebua’s latest luxury lounge amidst the stars.

dwp designed Pink Bar as the perfect vessel to enjoy the world’s best champagnes. An intimate feminine bar with hues of pink, rose and gold. A bronze and gold champagne table, sculpted from exotic metals, is the focal point of the lounge with a double height champagne cellar.

Sensual figurines commissioned by lebua for Pink Bar enhance the sultry mood. Circular rose loungers rest on handwoven rugs that soften exotic stone floors. The room is embraced by fluted fabric walls and spiced with vibrant geometric wallpapers.

Guests venture outside through a curved glass bay window onto the spacious outdoor pink sky terrace offering panoramic views of Bangkok’s vibrant cityscapes. The terrace features five private circular glass Juliet balconies for special occasions, secrets or both.

Pink Bar is feminine, exclusive, mysterious… and always fun.
