United Airlines Opens Modern Workspace at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok

An operational workplace built to support seamless airline operations in one of Southeast Asia’s busiest aviation hubs.

Behind every successful flight is a workplace helping teams coordinate, communicate, and respond. In Concourse G of Suvarnabhumi Airport, United Airlines’ new office is a dedicated operational hub meeting the demands of an international airport.

Designed and delivered as a turnkey project by dwp., the workplace combines functionality, flexibility, and brand identity, reflecting United Airlines’ standards while giving airport-based teams a comfortable, efficient environment.

Designing Within a Live Airport Environment

Few workplace projects operate under the constraints of an international airport.

Within BKK Airport’s secure operational zone, the project required compliance with airport HVAC, fire and life safety regulations, security protocols, data infrastructure, and access control, within a six-week programme and without disrupting operations.

The design incorporated all these technical requirements into the workplace, keeping it efficient while preserving quality and celebrating the United Airlines brand.

An Efficient Modern Workspace

The design centres on an efficient modern workplace where every square metre serves a clear purpose.

The brief covered offices for the General Manager and Finance team, an open office area, meeting facilities, a pantry, storage, and upgraded infrastructure. Planning met every requirement, lifted workstation capacity, and added a mini work-cafe without losing comfort.

Private offices give space for focused, confidential work, while the open workspace, meeting room, and work-cafe support collaboration, communication, and wellbeing.

A Workplace Shaped by Brand Identity

United Airlines’ global brand identity shaped the material palette and visual character of the workplace.

Signature blue and white tones meet warm timber finishes for a space that feels professional, approachable, and recognisably United. The globe logo sits in glass partitions throughout, balancing openness and privacy.

Materials were chosen for durability and easy maintenance. Carpet tiles define main work areas, with SPC flooring in the pantry. Quartz surfaces, glass, and clean detailing create a contemporary workplace true to United’s standards.

Technology and Acoustics Working Together

Technology runs throughout the office, supporting daily operations and the user experience.

Meeting spaces feature smart glass, room booking systems, and presentation tools with screen mirroring, HDMI, and USB connectivity. Workstations add integrated cable management and accessible power.

Acoustics mattered in a busy airport setting. Perforated acoustic gypsum ceilings and wall treatments reduce noise transfer and support concentration, keeping staff comfortable despite the activity outside.

Delivering Performance Through Design

Delivered as a dwp turnkey design and build solution within a six-week programme, the United Airlines office shows how careful planning, technical coordination, and operational understanding can produce an efficient workplace in a constrained setting. As a single point of responsibility, dwp ran a fast-track schedule and ordered long-lead items during design to protect the programme.

The project also reflects dwp.’s commitment to responsible design, using energy-efficient equipment, durable materials, and environmentally conscious suppliers that support long-term value and sustainability goals.
